Overview of the LEND Committee

The LEND Collaboration Committee helps facilitate the mission of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) programs within the AIR-P Network. The LEND Collaboration Committee includes members from academic institutions involved in the national LEND Network. The committee’s work aims to utilize the interdisciplinary expertise of its members to advance the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals and researchers towards improving healthcare outcomes for Autistic people. In an effort to provide a high-quality educational resource, the committee developed the LEND Seminar Series on the six AIR-P Research Nodes. Current committee efforts are focused on disseminating information on the seminar series and understanding how LEND sites can incorporate the content in their programs. Moving forward, the committee is planning how they can utilize the resources of the AIR-P Network to create more content on autism and physical health for LEND trainees across the country to fill existing gaps in education.

Responsibilities of LEND ANSWER Reps

The LEND Collaboration Committee ANSWER Rep will provide an additional perspective on curriculum creation, packaging, delivery, and dissemination. Initial efforts will be focused on
creating a dissemination plan for the current seminar series. They will also be asked to help identify current gaps in curriculum and possible content updates to the existing seminar series.
The ANSWER Rep will help support additional content for LEND trainees by brainstorming ideas, creating and giving virtual presentations, and providing input on dissemination strategies.

More specifically, the LEND Collaboration Committee ANSWER rep will participate in:

  • Quarterly LEND Collaboration Committee call attendance
  • Review current seminar series and provide feedback
  • Note - Additional responsibilities can be added based on ANSWER Rep’s input

We are looking for individuals with the following experience:

  • Individuals with Autistic/Neurodivergent lived experience

Preferred Qualifications for LEND ANSWER Reps:

  • Interest in creating content on autism and physical health for early career researchers and clinicians
  • Places a high value on working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Interest in training program structure and curriculum development
  • Former LEND trainee and/or graduate-level research training is a bonus :)
